New Year - New Me? More like New Hobby!
By the end of 2024 the algorithm blessed me with plenty of videos of great pastry chefs decorating elaborate cakes. I remembered that many years ago I also wanted to try making pretty cakes and cupcakes. I got myself a set of plastic pipes and started. After a few more or less ugly tries I neglected that desire of blessing my friends and family with pretty desserts.
In 2020 I decided that if I would really like to do something I should just go for it and not just silently let the years ago and watch others getting better. So when I saw these videos on my timeline I felt like: now is the time! My boyfriend and I really like to celebrate tea time so he also encouraged me with starting.
So I got plenty of baking tools for Christmas and couldn’t wait to start.
But this time I would be prepared. I don‘t just start randomly. Before starting I watched plenty of tutorials. What’s the best technique for the perfectly piped shell? Which buttercream ist stiff yet soft and most importantly tastes delicious?
I‘m currently at my fifth attempt and I can definitely see some improvement.

I‘m learning so much and it‘s a lot of fun to play with different tastes and styles.
My aim actually was to be able to make a pretty cake for my daughters birthday but it seems like I‘ll reach that goal a little earlier.
