DIGITAL ART

I'm posting Art under the pseudonym "Petite Amerie" since 2022 - but of course I was doing art long before that.

I always loved drawing and being creative. Sadly the moment I got to know many over artists through the Manga and Anime Community in Germany I lost faith in my work and found more joy in making Cosplay Costumes.

After many years of neglecting my artist journey and diving in to the world of fabrics, sewing machines and crafting materials I felt the need to go back to my roots. In 2020 I got myself new art supplies and started all over again. Soon I realized that I was all wrong in my late teens and that I shouldn't have compared myself with others.

Everyone is walking on their own path after all!
I saved up money and got myself an Ipad Pro and soon after that I finally found my very own style where I feel comfortable and at home with. I'm still far away from where I want to be but with every piece I see improvement and I learn a lot!

EMBROIDERY

When it comes to embroidery my journey started in 2020 as well. While having some free time during Covid I thought this might be the chance to finally start learning things I always wanted to, but somehow didn't dare to try. Maybe because of my job being a little dull at that time I wanted to give my brain some more food. (I also got into house plants (/▽\))

I did some embroidery with sequins for some of my cosplay costumes before but actually I had to learn everything from scratch. Many people tell me that I must be very patient to have such a slow paced hobby, but somehow it doesn't feel like that to me. With every stitch the embroidery grows and sometimes you only have to do a few stitches and all of a sudden you made a beautiful flower. (❁´◡`❁)
Of course my first pieces where a little crappy but I improved pretty fast and got better without trying too hard. It just comes natural. I know that my work is not the most acurate - especially my lettering is still sloppy, but as I sad before - improvement comes just naturally by continuing and getting a better feel for the materials you use. In addition I think that organic lines and plants don't have to be too accurate. It just looks more lively in my opinion. Maybe thats the charming point of my work. haha (╯▽╰ )

So if you still reading this - thank you for being part my journey! My personal advice for everyone who wants to start a new Hobby is: just give it a try! You don't know what your next big passion might be if you don't start. Maybe you unlock a new hidden talent?

Also don't compare yourself with others - we all live different lifes, get inspired differently and have a different pacing. The most important thing is that you are having fun and enjoy the things you do.

Of course if you have questions regarding embroidery and how to get started - just drop me a message on any of my social media pages.

Let's all enjoy being creative
